As the inventors of the IonWorks™ HT technology [U.S. Patent 6,488,829], we at Essen Instruments offer our expertise in high-throughput electrophysiology to customers in the context of an ion channel screening service. The objective is to provide the pharmaceutical industry with high-quality, time-efficient, and cost-effective ion channel services in support of drug discovery, lead optimization and safety pharmacology.
Essen has extensive experience with cell culture and high-throughput physiology, as we have been performing high-throughput electrophysiology experiments in our laboratories since 2001.[1,2] To date, we have conducted thousands of experiments, validated many cell lines, optimized protocols, performed compound profiling, and developed assays for measuring ion channel modulation (including voltage or frequency dependence of compounds).
